SPACEBABYMADCHA (SBM)

 Pronoun: Xe

I believe the purpose of my soul in this life on Earth is to motivate,  create art, help reach humans the depths of human emotion and learn them how to transmute it, deconstruct the current paradigms to create a more loving and inclusive society. If I would have to describe myself in 5 words, i would say passionate, disciplined, zest, love and esotericism

Everything that I find hard to formulate in real life or to find structure in, I formulate in my music. My art is a sum up of my insights, the randomness of life and my emotions. I see myself as non-binary and the same goes for my music. No boxes. Just expression

SBM THE DOCU

What inspired you to get into the arts and music?

I think people enjoy listening to music because it connects them with that thing that connects us all. Spirit, it makes our spirit speak and feel. suppressed feelings and experiences, feelings and experiences that are supposed to be lived out, so they can be transformed, transmuted into a higher expression of themselves, their evolutionary path of growth and so you could say, music is a physical manifestation of something Godly, something that influences and empowers us. and so For me, creating equals being free, wanting to feel free made me want to be an artist, getting in touch with my deepest self, my ‘godly’ / universal / soul of self-made me wanna be an artist, Being a literal ‘creator’ gives us/me the ability to truly experience freedom, because there are no limitations or rules, so that would be the main reason that I choose this path, besides that Music was definitely my first love, I think it would be weird, not make sense if I would not want a career in this/make a living out of it, I’m head over heels in Love

Did you have any influential role models?

Everybody who strives to be their best selves and was in my environment, I see as a role model but I would say Buddha, the teachings of Buddhism and stoicism was the most influential role I had in my life besides that, in my working field I would like to give credits to MindoffMars aka Bruno Agbozo for making me help reach newer levels.

What is your creative process and what are the most important things you keep in mind when beginning a new project? Are there any recurring themes/issues you like to address within your work?

Before I start anything, I actively remind myself that all I have to do is have fun. As long as you are having fun, you are doing it right. The way my creative process goes fluctuates, sometimes it’s just simply having an urge to create, so I find a beat and just freestyle and see what comes out of it and build up from there or, i always carry a notebook with me where I write down my feelings, insights, ideas, words, drawings, lyrics and so sometimes, I use those creations as a foundation of a new song

You recently released the EP 'NEW ERA’'. What was the inspiration behind the collection and how did it come to be?

as a kid you could say that I was pretty much the way I am now, happy kiddo, laughing, jovial persona, can’t get enough of life but for a long time I had lost that part of myself, I had lost the essence of my personality due to society having certain expectations and me feeling like I was not living up to that, also feeling like there wasn’t enough listening/understanding from my environment, resources and a lack of energy from within myself eventually, for me to explore myself how I wanted to, but so since 2018 i started to reconnect with the essence of myself again and i feel like NEW ERA was/is a physical manifestation of the growth I made as a person, sister, friend, artist, etc. I no longer feel bound to my childhood traumas, issues. This is the NEW ERA.

What advice would you give to artists starting out or to those artists who are struggling with creative blocks?

Yes we sometimes get stuck in loops but in reality, creative blocks are creative blocks because you perceive them as creative blocks, and so that itself creates the creative block even more. So first of all, stop believing that you have a creative block. You have the creation of the whole universe inside of you, find ways to connect with it,  So what I can advise if you would experience it, is to change your ways, Tap into your subconscious, carry a sketch/notebook for sudden ideas, random insights, learn new subjects, expand your mind, go and do something else entirely like going to an Opera, You'd be amazed at where new ideas are hiding out. They're often where you would least expect them to be!
