Lionel Dury was born in 1997 and lives and works in Brussels.

In 2021, Lionel graduated from La Cambre with a Master's degree in drawing and won the "Coup de Coeur" prize of his year, along with two other laureates. His practice involves several fields and several voices; between sculptural, metaphysical, scientific and philosophical interventions.

Lionel Dury's works reveal the rhythm and trajectories of our psychic and physical universe. Fragile and ephemeral, the networks of which we are a part, linking this world to our inner selves, are presented to the public.

The artist relies on the expertise of neurologists and physicists; he carries out in-depth research on themes and theories belonging to the fields of quantum physics, fluid mechanics, spirituality and the cognitive representation of stimuli.

When Lionel Dury talks about reality, he is talking about what is relative to each member of the body of matter, to exploration beyond our first perception, questioning our certainties and the dogma of the number.

With the help of scientific theories, such as that of turbulent systems, the "weaving" around matter, network systems or the notion of absolute zero, he develops a typography of our psyche, fed by fluctuations and movements.

Without requiring the viewer to actively learn this dry knowledge, Lionel Dury stages, through sculptural works, a narrative deeply linked to our reality. Although infinitely impalpable, due to the very opacity of the field from which they come, these invisible stories make up the nature of which we are a part.

We are invited to become aware of the quasi-spatial universe, yet present within our bodies. To enter a state of awareness of what is occurring at each moment, in order to poetically rethink our way of viewing the world.
