Elliott/Elizabeth Cobit
My name is Jo, I am non-binary (any pronouns are okay) and I'm a drag artist. My main medium is pictures of looks I create, though I also perform.
Elliott Cobit and Elizabeth Cobit are my two drag personae. I build them (and I am still doing it) by exploring gender norms through costume and make up. What I am searching for is mainly aesthetic - and playing with the idea of man and woman (and others) is a way to reach it. It is of course political, like all art. Whatever the medium is, you always express something (even if you don't want to). I hope that people can see a bit of how great and how awful gender can be, through what I do, but I also want to entertain people, make them smile, laugh, or even cry.
