ArccaPolo

Brazilian, born in Rio de Janeiro. Located in Brussels. Started producing my first album early 2020, together with the Belgium producer Eamonn Tobin.

"I have always been involved with music. I started writing texts while attending a music school in Brazil, with something telling me I could maybe one day turn those words into music. I did dance for 8 years through my teenager years, and I engaged in choir and solo singing through University and after. I did few entertaining jobs here and there, including tv, festivals, parties, few of them in our LGBTQ+ community. I have for years balanced a technological career with different artistic projects, and now I’m channeling all my creative flow fully to songwriting and composing.

I write and sing my own songs, which spam from indie pop to electronic rock. And I put a very personal project forward, sharing more intimate and distressing thoughts about my own life experiences.”

“For me the storytelling character of my project is the most important aspect I like
to highlight. In my creative process, honesty and exposition are the essential
ingredients of my writing. I do not know what the end product will be before I
have a clear view of the subject I want to focus on. Knowing that in advance
helps me drive my musical arrangements to support the message I want to
convey.

The main theme of ‘Half’ is mental health, which is an issue not only affecting
hard our community, but most of all the people trying to make a living in this
complex and exhausting society. By allowing people to know about my own
struggles, I want to let them know they are not alone in their own hardships.”

Arccapolo is presenting his newly released EP in Brussels city center

“This first EP ‘Half’ is autobiographic, touching on themes like loss and deceiving,
defiance and self-control, love and hurt, anger and submission. . It displays a
peculiar reflection of the barest struggles of modern adulthood and of our most
primal surviving instincts. And, even though it touches very sensitive subjects, it
has a very optimist message: every losing experience has a silver lining.”
